As part of our efforts to send this group to the UK we had a successful fundraiser. I’d like to thank Paul and Irene Gigg who have been amazing in their support -- they allowed us to host our fundraiser at their beautiful Pacific Palisades home. I also want to thank our board and volunteers for their hard work in making this happen.

Donations are the life-blood of our efforts. We are now in the planning stages of hosting the Liverpool group as they start to fundraise to come to LA in summer 2013. We will also be raising money so that we can send another group to the UK.

You can donate via Paypal or by mailing a check -

I am so happy that we have been able to keep alive the Spirit that moved my late husband,
Dennis F. Storer, OBE and the British American Business Council Board of Los Angeles to organize and sustain exchanges between the UK and USA. Pairing two communities that experienced riots was particularly satisfying as both LA and Liverpool are working to regenerate communities - it was also the riots that spurred my husband to create our foundation.
Your support allows us to continue giving these young teens life changing experiences which can drastically alter their lives for the better. The trip helps to nurture confidence and inspire the courage to aim for the highest horizons. The teens gain a better perspective of the world and its inhabitants. Details of previous trips and alumni can be found at
this special section of this site.

Before closing, I must also take this opportunity to thank each and every member of the SOY group for their hard work, commitment, and time to make all of this happen (they are all volunteers - we have no paid members). I must also thank you, who are reading this, for your support in anyway possible.
I wish you a happy, healthy 2013 -- may it be a peaceful world for us all.

Thank you.

We have very exciting news to report - the new Spirit of Youth Foundation, has been able to raise funds, produce an educational program and arrange a trip to Britain, that took place in July 2012.

A group of five young people and a chaperone, travelled to Liverpool. Here they joined a specially selected group of Liverpool teens to live and work together 24/7. The highlight of the trip was their participation in five days of work to build homes in Toxteth, under the guidance of
Habitat for Humanity. They received certificates for their work experience.
